We pride ourselves on being a place of growth and learning for both teachers and learners. Children are provided with ample space for both quiet and active play in large sunny rooms.
We consult with local schools to ensure that our education programme allows us to turn out confident children, ready, able and enthusiastic to start ‘big school’.
Country Kids Academy's convenient location allows parents peace of mind, being able to drop the kids off close to home without long car journey’s into town, as well as retaining the sought after country environment. A home close to home.
Our little children learn most effectively through play and we pride ourselves on being a place of growth and learning for both teachers and learners. Children are provided with ample space for both quiet and active play in large sunny rooms and country style outside areas.
The daily program offers a balance between free play and quiet, more structured activities such as story time, circle games, music time and snack time, all of which provide opportunities for oral expression, encouraging language development and promoting good listening skills.
Outside playgrounds and large spaces allow for exercise to burn off young energy as well as a daily dose of fresh country air. The playground offers slides, sandpits, ride toys and climbers, which encourage motor skills as well as both group and individual play.
Due to the diverse nature of the schools our children currently attend and most parents having to both work a full day as well as commute, we are often left without a place for our kids to safely stay after school.
We offer a safe and comfortable place for pre-teens to spend their afternoon. A place to socialise with others and make friends their own age in the area.
Homework supervision, ensuring that all homework is done before pick up is another service that relieves the stress of tired parents and children. Homework is done in a supervised area and allows for each child to work at their own pace.
We offer: Meals and snacks Homework supervision Learning/ study assistance Fun outside play and exercise

Country Kids Academy is a small private nursery school based in the Walkerville countryside, just a stone’s throw outside Johannesburg. Built on a lifetime dream to work with children and a belief that stimulated, engaged, happy children with a strong sense of self will confidently go on to fulfil their potential in whatever they choose to do.
We are privileged to have enormous grounds and make full use of this country environment to bring a holistic interpretation to our learning. We have a large homely house with large airy classrooms, although we have small separate classes for each age group (max. 15 kids) we work strongly within a collective involvement system, with all staff taking an active interest in each child’s life.
ECD learning takes place through experiencing the process, learning through play and creativity. We believe in a hands on approach both with our teachers and learners.
Discipline is based on encouraging self discipline, through positive input and motivation. If all else fails or someone is ‘hurt’ we implement a version of time out to assess and calm the situation. We encourage genuine apologies and understanding.
Our teachers are all fully certified in their respective areas and are on a continuous learning program themselves to keep up to date with current trends.
We have 5 teachers and 3 supplementary staff that make up our staff complement for our ± 60 children and 20 Aftercare primary school learners.

The school day starts at 08h00 each day and punctuality is a great life lesson to teach your kids. Late arrivals also lose out on active learning and participation.
For security purposes you are asked to drop your child with a teacher. Your child will only be allowed to leave with parents/ guardians unless otherwise advised.

We understand that children get sick and we work hard to uphold our hygiene standards. We have a very low absenteeism rate. Children cannot attend school if they have a fever or are vomiting. If your child is on medication that needs to be taken during the day, they are sick enough to be at home.
For both nutrition and safety purposes (we have allergic kids – peanuts, egg, diabetes etc) we do not allow kids to bring ANY food to school.
We provide the following:
Breakfast
Mid morning Snack
Lunch
Afternoon fruit snack
Juice/ Water throughout the day
To celebrate arrangements can be made with the teacher to suit you.
Fees are payable in advance and for safety cash is not King! Please make use of Internet banking or our card machine (in the office). If cash is unavoidable (pls do not stand in bank queues) please hand to the teacher on duty and ensure that you receive a receipt.
We are not a fashion show and clothing is to be practical. Dungarees/ jumpsuits and belts or braces are a toilet time hindrance.
ALL clothing is to be clearly marked. Chain stores do good business and often the kids are excited to be wearing the same shirt etc. ……..
Bare foot is best and we encourage the kids to remove their shoes.
We like to let our kids experience ‘the world’ and organise to go out as much as possible.
Library is once a term & we go often to see the animals + visited – the vet, zoo, post office, spar, a nursery, puppet shows & more.
